Not being in love

There’s a reason we call it “falling in love,” and not “rising in love.” To be in love is fall down; it’s to descend, to obsess, to suffer, to be mad. The person in love has no other choice than to be in love, for who would choose to spend their days in such a state?

Falling in love: seems like a funny thing to want, no?
