Failing preseason tests

If you fail a preseason test and you feel pain, that’s good. You’ve gotten more out of the test than your teammates who passed.

If you fail a preseason test and you don’t feel pain, that’s bad. You might think about quitting altogether.

As Ray Dalio writes, “It is a fundamental law of nature that in order to gain strength one has to push one’s limits, which is painful.”
