2019 fitness resolutions

It’s practically a law of physics that resolutions fail, especially as they concern fitness. But 1% of people will succeed, and it’s to those 1% I speak:

Instead of setting a goal to lose 10 pounds, consider using a system of weighing yourself every day. That self-knowledge will alter your habits at a subconscious level.

Instead of setting a goal to go to the gym for 60 minutes, three days a week, consider using a system of being active every day, no matter what. Stop using your car if you have to. Walk everywhere.

Instead of setting a goal to squat 250 pounds, use a system of squatting every Monday, no matter what, with the intention to get better at it.

Instead of setting the vague goal of “eating better,” use a system of only shopping at the outskirts of the grocery store, and never eating fast food.

Goals are hard and require willpower. Systems are precisely the opposite.
