Athletes on ellipticals

An elliptical, which appears to be built for folks who want to run, but don’t want to run, but want to get tired, but not with too much effort, and perhaps want to watch Netflix as they partake in this running-not-running activity, isn’t suitable for most athletes.

Most athletes need their feet on the ground, which makes sense, given their sport happens on the ground.

Look at what happens in your sport and try to simulate that in your training.

[Some exceptions I can think of: Swimmers and cross country runners looking for cross training, injured athletes, people who just happen to love ellipticals.]
