It’s cold today. The report says it feels like -25 degrees in Fredonia.
When I lived in Alaska this weather was normal. In fact, a day like today was warm enough to make you think that spring was just around the corner. We were prepped for it: Carhartt overalls, military-grade boots, and face masks for every walk to work.
I’m not bragging, and I’m not complaining–if I were a school superintendent I’d close my schools too–but let’s not pretend like there’s anything extreme about today’s weather.
What’s extreme is our lack of preparation for it.
